With the support of Department of English, Mazoon English Club organized a workshop on “Interpersonal Speaking Skills” on 10.4.18 in the English Lab Room from 12:30 to 1:30. About 25 students participated in the activity.
The workshop was conducted by Mr. John Case who started it with practical examples from our life. He used pictures and illustrations and talked about them since interpersonal communication includes exchanging thoughts, feelings or any other type of messages verbally.
The students who participated in the activity interacted effectively during the workshop since Mr. John asked them to draw things and talk about them as a practical example on interpersonal communication .After that, he asked the students to google some topics using their smart phonestocheck some specific information and images then tried to exchange and deliver them to each other verbally. At the end, Ms. Abeer, Mazoon English Club Chief, gave a vote of thanks to Mr. John and all participants.
The department of Business & Economics organized a Seminar program for the graduating students on the 4th April 2018. The seminar was delivered by Dr. Imran Azad entitled, “Tips for Interview: Face to Face & Telephonic”.
The speaker focused on the process of Interview, which is very important and everyone has to go through this procedure looking for an employment opportunity. It covered the pre Interview tips, during and after Interview tips and post interview. It highlighted the key points for preparations before attending an interview based on the position applied for. The speaker also appraised the audience about the conduct during the interview while answering the questions and which aspects to be emphasized and which not. The post interview tips were also explained thoroughly.
The session was interactive and the students actively participated in the discussion. A large number of graduating students and some faculty members attended the session. The students found the seminar very useful.
The seminar on “Big Data” was conducted by the Department of CS & IT on 04.04.2018 at L305 from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. The programme was convened by
Dr. Mohammed Abbas, Head/CS&IT and Coordinated by Dr. Mohammad Daiyan, Assistant Professor.
The seminar started with welcome address given by Dr. Mohammed Abbas, Head/CS&IT and Convener. The students of MIS, IST and CS majors have attended the seminar.
The speaker covered the thrust areas of Big Data. He discussed about the definition of Big Data, followed by its objective, motivation, Tools used in Big Data, Risk of Big Data, benefits, application and future scope of Big Data.
